Can I add - this is why artists are trained in art history, as well as technique, presentation, etc etc. The original poster (I suspect) has references to Japanese Imperial imagery, potentially Third Reich, too ….
After some research, I am thinking this poster alludes to Japanese Americans specifically - perhaps it was created on the West Coast? I do not know much about it other than it is from Illinois Statewide Library Project.
